MYC Wrap Up: Minnesota Yoga Conference
The Minnesota Yoga Conference this past weekend was truly a special event. I was there as a vendor, and I felt that it had such a lovely vibe this year. One of the things that impressed me is the exposure to various ways of thinking about health, healing, the body and mindfulness.

EcoPetites Poncho
What a pleasure it was to meet all of you yogis who attended, and see people come out of their workshops looking peaceful and centered. I had a few items that were special for the event, including a couple of exclusive one-of-a-kind ponchos. Look for more at my next event!
There was some delightful synergy with the other clothing vendors there, many of whom are also the designers and owners of their line. Customers were pairing items together from EcoPetites along with other sustainable and/or local fashion lines such as Foat, Saprema, Haven and Radiate Activewear.

I had lovely booth neighbors and got to connect with many of them, learned and was inspired. From Jessica at Moxie Malas, I bought a beautiful hand-made mala, a string of 108 beads, plus one. Admittedly, I bought it because I was looking for a beautiful necklace, but it turns out to be so much more. From her I learned about the use of a mala for meditation, a practice I’ve been interested in, but have not practiced much. Her description and instructions reminded me of prayer on the rosary, and lo and behold, the rosary is basically the Roman Catholic version of prayer and meditation beads or knots which is based on the more ancient mala.

Laurie of Mystic Chocolates, wearing an EP dress
My vendor neighbor (and now customer!) Laurie of Mystic Chocolate makes delectable chocolates that she hand-makes herself. They are vegan, raw, gluten-free and organic! Who says you can’t have it all?
I also had a Chakra reading by Misha, owner of Roots to Stars and was surprisingly deeply touched by the experience. Hard to explain why, and I am still oddly haunted by it. But in a good way, I assure you.
All in all, it was an amazing experience with wonderful connections. I look forward to returning to next year’s conference!
Love your blog post, Daphne! It was a kick to be your neighbor at the Marketplace at the conference this year. I plan to return and in-joy a relaxing and rejuvinating workshops intermingled with sharing Mystic-Chocolate with the other vendors and yogis. I will be wearing your little black dress to my nephew’s wedding in Savannah, Georgia, in a couple of weeks. I’ll be sure to share where I got it. Blessings & hope to see you next year. Laurie <3
Thanks for your support, Laurie! Best of luck with your delicious chocolates, and see you next year.-Daphne
